During the ‘intelligent lockdown’ (COVID-19, 2020) Zindzi decided to step outdoors daily, alone, with her camera. She wanted to capture the silent city in which she lives, Amsterdam. In the way that photography offered her comfort during lockdown, she hopes that this publication, will offer you comfort as well. Once you have completed the puzzle you can frame it and put it up on the wall. This way the puzzle becomes a tangible souvenir of a remarkable and unsettling time. An easily accessible way to buy art. A way to bring the outside world inside. And maybe even a way to look at a photo for a longer period of time than ever before. Zindzi Zwietering.

Through her work, Zwietering investigates how we, as humans, relate to climate change while living in the context of a city. She approaches man-made structures, like buildings and streets, not as permanent landmarks, the bus as ephemeral objects in time and space. To capture the essence of human control, or lack thereof, over nature.

‘Dragone’ is about the life of a family in the historical part of Bari, southern Italy. Through an encounter with an eleven-year-old boy named Miky Dragone, I was introduced to his family. I followed the Dragone family for a while, became close to them, and through photography was able to capture fragments of their life in Bari.
